The corn dog is one of the joys of summer, bringing back memories of small-kid time and all the sights and sounds that go along with carnivals and seemingly endless carefree days.
A taste of happiness in your hands is on the summer lunch menu at Plumeria Beach House restaurant at The Kahala Hotel & Resort, where the corn dog has undergone a makeover for adults.
Gone is that thick bready coating of cornmeal batter (who needs the carbs these days?), replaced by a more savory corn kernel-filled, fritter-style Kurobuta sausage dog, accompanied by spicy ketchup, whole-grain honey mustard and onion aioli, at $12.
No stick, though. This being The Kahala, you’ll be daintily polishing it off with fork and knife.
Keep that summer vibe going with a salad of Nalo greens ($12) and a pot of clams and mussels steamed in garlic white wine butter with lobster-tomato saffron broth ($18).
