Two men were in critical condition Tuesday after being pulled from the ocean on the North Shore and the Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon.
A snorkeler was brought to shore at Three Tables in Pupukea on Tuesday morning.
City Emergency Medical Services said the 60-year-old man was found unresponsive and bystanders pulled him from the water at about 9 a.m. They performed CPR until Ocean Safety crews arrived. EMS transported him to an emergency room in critical condition.
At Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon Tuesday afternoon, a man in his 60s was found floating and unresponsive and in critical condition. EMS said bystanders gave the man CPR. The incident occurred at about 2:05 p.m.
Visitor falls 30 feet during hike on Maui
A 30-year-old visitor from San Diego was hospitalized Sunday after falling 30 feet while hiking at a waterfall on the Commando Trail near Hana Highway in East Maui.
Maui fire officials said the incident occurred at about 10 a.m. when the man fell while hiking at the top of a waterfall above Hana Highway. A hiking companion told firefighters that the victim lost his footing, bounced off a rocky ledge 20 feet below the falls and then fell an additional 10 feet into the pond below.
A fire rescue team airlifted him to a landing zone next to Hana Highway. Paramedics transported the man to Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition.
