The Food Network is giving local pros and amateur cooks the opportunity to be one of its new culinary stars. Local firefighters and policemen, families and armed service veterans are among the specialty cooks being sought for the next season of Guy Fieri’s “Guy’s Grocery Games.”
If you’re outgoing and have the kitchen chops to impress judges, you can apply at beonguysgrocery-games.com for the opportunity to compete for the $20,000 prize. All applicants must be U.S. residents 18 or older.
Producers are casting specialty episodes, for professionals with unique perspectives on burgers, bacon, cheese or carnival food.
Other special categories:
>> All in the family: seeking four family members who are or have been professional chefs or cooks, who will compete against each other
>> Mother’s Day/Father’s Day: parents and adult children with some pro cooking experience
>> Superfans: cooks and chefs who are epic fans of the show
>> Amateur cooks in uniform: firefighters, police officers and military veterans
>> Food truck chefs
>> Station chefs, line cooks, etc., representing every position in a restaurant kitchen
