International Market Place opens Thursday

    The $500 million “re-imagined” International Market Place, pictured above from Kalakaua Avenue on Tuesday, is set to open Thursday. Only half of the shops will be opening that day, but the bulk of the tenants are expected to be operational by the fall of 2017.

The once kitschy marketplace lined with carts full of costume jewelry, faux lei and made-in-China trinkets is a stark contrast to the glitzy, $500 million shopping center opening Thursday in the heart of Waikiki. Read more
