The annual Aloha Section PGA Patriot Golf Month Kickoff will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bishop Square downtown.
It will feature free five-minute golf clinics, contests and prizes.
Over the next month, Aloha Section members will give free golf clinics to military members and dependents.
Those will be at Kaneohe Klipper (Sept. 2), Leilehua (Sept. 21), Kiahuna (Sept. 24) and Mamala Bay/Hickam (Oct. 1).
There will also be par-3 contests and other fundraising events at courses around the state.

Folds of Honor was created in 2007, by Major Dan Rooney, who was a PGA Professional and Oklahoma Air National Guardsmen.

Nahale wins in playoff
Brandon Nahale, from Waialae Country Club, won a three-hole play-off Monday to qualify for the 2016 National Car Rental Aloha PGA Assistant Championship.
The local qualifier was held at Hoakalei Country Club. Nahale and Juan Rodriquez shot 72-75. Nahale’s win in the playoff gave him $1,350 and the Aloha Section PGA slot in the 40th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship at PGA Golf Club in Florida this October.
Kapolei’s Jason Jakovac shot the low 36-hole score (76—145) but was not eligible to advance.
Galdiano ties for second
Punahou graduate Mariel Galdiano, about to start her freshman year at UCLA, tied for second at the 41st Junior PGA Championship.
The rain-shortened event finished Aug. 12, at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rhode Island.
Galdiano led after the first two rounds, but a 77 the final day left her at 5-under-par 208, two shots behind Lucy Li. Kaiser junior Malia Nam (70—215) took 11th.
Downie qualifies for national event
Hilo’s Shaun Downie won Hawaii’s spot in the U.S. Mid-Amateur national championship, firing a 2-under-par 70 at Big Island Country Club earlier this month.
Downie was the only golfer to break par, putting together five birdies, a bogey and double bogey on the 18th. Waikoloa’s Richard Gillette was next at 73 and Burt Bonk, from Kamuela, shot 74.
The Mid-Amateur is open to golfers 25-older. The national championship is Sept. 10-15 in Elverson, Pa. Since 1988, every Mid-Amateur champion has been invited to The Masters.
