>> Boston pitcher Steven Wright (Hawaii) returned from the disabled list Friday. In his first appearance in three weeks, Wright allowed the Royals five runs on seven hits in six innings. The Red Sox lost 6-3.

>> Chace Numata (Pearl City) has lifted his average 18 points over the past two and a half weeks by going 24-for 62 (.387). Included in that hot streak are a four-hit game on Aug. 9 and a five-hit game on Aug. 21.

>> Jordan Kurokawa (UH-Hilo) earned his first professional win with two innnings of relief against the Gulf Coast Blue Jays on August 25.
