University of Hawaii sophomore Camille Campos won the individual Women’s 5k at the Big Wave Individual at Kahuku Golf Course.
Her time of 17:48.90 edged Central Florida’s Anne-Marie Blaney, who finished second at 17:50.80.
UCF won the team competition with 23 points. UH finished second with 37 points, followed by Hawaii Pacific at 70. BYU-Hawaii and Chaminade rounded out the competition at 91 and 155 points, respectively.
Hawaii Pacific men lose on late penalty
The Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team lost to Concordia (Ore.) 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in Nampa, Idaho.
HPU’s Sven Koening put the Sharks (0-1-1) ahead with a goal in the 18th minute. Christian Thyron scored the equalizer for the Cavaliers (2-0-0) in the 35th minute. Erick Urzua’s penalty kick in the 80th minute proved to be the game-winner.

Erin Iacullo scored 18 minutes in, while Megan Maher doubled the Tigers’ lead in the 52nd minute.
Chaminade tops San Francisco State
The Chaminade volleyball team defeated San Francisco State 25-12, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18 in the Honolulu Invitational at McCabe Gym.
The Silverswords (4-0) were led by Kim Spring’s 18 kills, which were both match and season highs.
Christine Johnson led the Gators (0-3) with 10 kills.
3 Hawaii players are released
Three players from Hawaii were released by their respective teams as NFL teams cut their teams to 53 players on Saturday.
The New England Patriots released former University of Hawaii running back Joey Iosefa and former Kamehameha Schools athlete Kamu Grugier-Hill, who was the team’s sixth-round draft pick out of Eastern Illinois.
The Oakland Raiders released linebacker John Lotulelei, a Baldwin athlete who played at UNLV.
