Man found unresponsive in cell dies
A man in his 30s died Tuesday after being found unresponsive in the Honolulu police cellblock, police said.
Police discovered the man unresponsive at about 3 or 4 a.m. and he was taken to a hospital, where he died, a police spokeswoman said.
She said foul play is not suspected and officers opened an unattended death case and an internal administrative investigation.
Police did not release the man’s name and said he was arrested Monday. The medical examiner’s office said the man has not been positively identified, and his cause of death was pending further studies.
