A 30-year-old man apparently drowned Wednesday in the area off China Walls in East Oahu.
Police said the man was found unresponsive in the ocean off China Walls in Hawaii Kai at about 1:40 p.m. and was brought to shore. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Church burglarized on Hawaii island
Hawaii island police are asking the public for information about a church burglary earlier this week in Hilo.
The burglary happened between 11 a.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday at New Hope Christian Fellowship on Kupulau Road.
Police said someone broke into the church and stole miscellaneous tools and equipment.

Man assaulted, robbed of skateboard
A 19-year-old Pahoa man told police he was assaulted and robbed of the skateboard he was carrying while walking near Pahoa Village Road on Hawaii island early Tuesday.
The victim told police that shortly after 1 a.m. while he was walking near the intersection of Route 130 and Pahoa Village Road, a white four-door sedan stopped. He said two males got out of the the vehicle and he was assaulted by one of them, who took the skateboard before fleeing.
The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
Police are asking the public to help locate the suspects.
Police are looking for a 22-year-old suspect who is described as being about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He also has a mustache and goatee, and numerous tattoos on both arms. The second suspect is described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, having curly black hair. Both were last seen wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
