University of Hawaii sophomore Camille Campos finished second overall in a field of 174 runners at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento, Calif.
Her time of 20:44.4 fell short of Arizona State’s Chelsey Albertson’s 20:20.8.
In team competition, the Rainbow Wahine finished seventh out of 15 teams with a team total of 186. Arizona State took the team competition with a score of 60.
BYU-Hawaii blanks Chaminade
The BYU-Hawaii men’s soccer team used two second-half goals for a 2-0 win over Chaminade at Saint Louis field on Saturday.
Jessey Hein and Braden Bailey were the goal scorers for the Seasiders (4-2-1, 3-1-0 PacWest). The Silverswords drop to 2-4-0, 2-2-0.
>> Host Hawaii Hilo and Hawaii Pacific battled to a 4-4 double-overtime draw. Sven Koenig recorded a hat-trick for the Sharks (2-2-3, 2-0-1). Jake Sagami had a team-high two goals for the Vulcans (1-6-1, 0-3-1).
>> Sydney Eddy’s goal in the 13th minute led BYU-Hawaii women’s soccer team (3-4-1, 2-2) to a 1-0 victory over Chaminade (1-6, 1-3) at Saint Louis field.
Chaminade swept by Dixie State
The Chaminade volleyball team wrapped up its first PacWest road trip with a 27-25, 25-15, 25-22 loss to Dixie State in St. George, Utah.
Natashya Enos dished out 17 assists for the Silverswords (7-8, 1-5), while Delayne Daniel had a game-high 12 kills for the Trailblazers (9-4, 5-0)
>> The BYU-Hawaii volleyball team outlasted Holy Names 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11 in Oakland, Calif.
Sinamoni Tonga led the Seasiders (4-11, 2-4) with 21 kills and 20 digs, while Leilani Adolpho added 15 kills and 16 digs. Melissa Munley had 15 digs and a game-high 24 kills for the Hawks (1-14, 0-7).
