Hawaii’s productive soccer season continues to yield recognition from the Big West Conference.
On Monday, senior forward Addie Steiner received Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Steiner scored the go-ahead goal in 2-0 Rainbow Wahine wins over UC Riverside and UC Davis last week.
Steiner, a Kansas native and a transfer from Northwestern, had three goals for the week, giving her a team-high eight on the season.
“I’m very happy for Addie,” UH coach Michele Nagamine said. “She netted two game winners this week and absolutely deserves this honor. She has become a crowd favorite at Waipio and it’s great for our team that she’s getting the recognition.”
UH has three Big West weekly awards on the season, its most since joining the league in 2012.
UH (9-3-1, 2-2 Big West) continues play at home Friday against Long Beach State (6-6-2, 2-1-1).
