A man believed to be in his 50s died Saturday after he was pulled unconscious from waters off Ala Moana Beach Park near Magic Island.
The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m.
According to an Emergency Medical Services report, a lifeguard spotted the man underwater and seemingly unresponsive. The man was brought to shore where lifeguards performed CPR until paramedics arrived to perform advanced life support.
The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital, where he later died.
Business in Waipahu robbed of cash
Police are investigating the robbery of a Waipahu retail establishment early Saturday morning.
According to police, an unidentified man entered the establishment, brandished a dangerous instrument and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident was reported at 2:12 a.m.
Argument ends with Palolo man’s arrest
Police have charged a 68-year-old Palolo man for allegedly threatening another man with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, Cornel Lucas and a 49-year-old man were arguing on Thursday afternoon when the suspect brandished the weapon and threatened the other man.
Lucas was charged Friday with first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $20,000.
