Early walk-in voting opens at 2 Oahu sites

Early walk-in voting for the general election begins today and will go through Saturday, Nov. 5.

On Oahu, voting locations will be open at Honolulu Hale and Kapolei Hale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

It’s also not too late to vote by mail. Requests for a mail ballot must be received by the county clerk’s office by Nov. 1.

The ballot needs to be in to election officials by 6 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 8, to be counted.

Election officials are hoping for better turnout than in the August primary, which marked a record low for Hawaii. Only 34.7 percent of registered voters bothered to cast ballots.

In addition to the contentious presidential race, Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell is fighting to retain his seat against former U.S. Rep. and City Councilman Charles Djou. There are also a number of seats in the Hawaii Legislature and County Councils at stake, and voters will get to weigh in on 20 proposed amendments to the County Charter.

Information on neighbor island early-voting locations can be found here: elections.hawaii.gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/2016-Early-Walk-in-Voting-Site_GeneralFinal.pdf.

Until the top is FORCED(by the people) to follow the rule of law,( instead of picking and choosing whatever they like or don’t like- or thinking they are above the law), the USA will continue down the steep slippery slope to disintegration and will NEVER be great again.

I am hopeful that enough grassroots, proud Americans will open their eyes and find in them enough courage (like the British with brexit) to stand up to the establishment ‘brain washing machine’ that includes the special interests of: bankers-wall st, CBS, bought and paid for politicians and their msm. Remember, it is certain that those special interests are NOT on the side of your average hard working, law abiding American taxpayer and voter.
America needs a hard reset to get back to a government for and by the people.

Do you have enough hope left to get out and vote?

Wonder how many votes Caldwell can buy with his millions in donations from rail contractors and his own $250,000 a year Territorial Savings Bank side-job? Democracy in action, I guess.
