Kauai police arrested a 25-year-old Lihue man suspected in multiple break-ins, and continue to investigate several other burglaries in the Lihue area.
Police arrested Keoki Carvalho on Wednesday on suspicion of three counts of second-degree burglary.
On Wednesday a burglary was reported at Honsador Lumber on Wilcox Road in Lihue.
Detectives were also investigating two other burglaries earlier in the week at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on Hardy Street and All Kauai Bail Bonds on Oihana Street.
Police said while following up on leads, they found Carvalho shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday near Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor. Carvalho is in custody in lieu of $15,000 bail.
“While we are hopeful that this arrest will reduce property crimes that have been occurring in Lihue, we are asking the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately,” Deputy Police Chief Michael Contrades said.
