Not that we’re not grateful to see the Hula Bowl return, at least half the time. Honolulu has missed hosting the iconic college football all-star game of long standing since its departure in 2008.
Now, officials said Friday, Hawaii will alternate as a venue for the bowl game with Raleigh, N.C., starting in 2019. On those off years, it will have to be dubbed “The Clog Dancing Bowl,” or some such, right?
We don’t recognize the fifth-best airport
Oh, really?
That likely was the reaction of many kamaaina upon hearing that Honolulu Airport is ranked the nation’s fifth-best airport. That’s according to a new study by ThePointsGuy.com that looked at the 30 busiest U.S. airports and scored data such as flight delays, cancellations, average security wait times, public transit options and restaurants/lounges.
Much as we’d like to revel among the best, we know our humble airport all too well: from its ’70s-style public ways, to its tacky plastic orange barriers at curbside, to its never-ending construction and repairs.
