Police have recovered a stolen vehicle connected to gunshots near the University of Hawaii at Manoa more than a month ago.
The vehicle was recovered at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday in Kalihi, police said. No suspects were arrested.
On Sept. 20 the owner of a stolen Nissan and a friend saw the car parked on Metcalf Street and stopped to ask some nearby males about it.
One male, in his 20s, approached and lifted his shirt, showing a tattoo on his stomach. The two victims left and saw someone drive off in the Nissan.
They tried to follow the vehicle, but the man with the tattoo stepped out onto the roadway and fired several shots from a handgun at them, police said.
Police opened a first-degree attempted murder investigation.
Police described the suspect as 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 130 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie, light-colored shorts and shoes. The tattoo was not described.
