Question: Sandy Beach is busy! We need both restrooms. How long will the one be closed?
Answer: Through April, according to a news release from the city. The comfort station in the northeast section of Sandy Beach Park along East Oahu’s Ka Iwi Coast closed Nov. 28 for a major renovation that will see exterior walls, columns, plumbing fixtures and the roof replaced. Proximity to the ocean and continuous exposure to salt water took a toll on the structure, one of two comfort stations at the popular beach park. The other comfort station remains open, and three portable toilets were brought in to ease the shortage of bathroom facilities during the renovation.
Q: Did I miss the Kapolei Christmas parade?
A: No. The annual Kapolei City Lights holiday festival and the West Oahu Electric Light Parade are scheduled for Saturday. The parade starts at 6 p.m. and travels west on Kapolei Parkway from Fort Barrette Road to Kealakapu Street, according to the city.

Auwe to the inconsiderate dog walkers who bring shame to all dog lovers for leaving their dogs’ mess along the sidewalk. They even allow their dogs to defecate in the front yard of a handicapped senior citizen who has difficulty cleaning up the mess. — Another irritated dog lover

I attended the craft fair at the Blaisdell Nov. 27 with a friend, leaving my husband with a caregiver at home. With the weather getting cooler, I was looking for a lap blanket for his transport chair, where my husband spends many hours.
