Man allegedly crashes into police car
A 23-year-old Haleiwa man was in custody Saturday for investigation of first-degree attempted murder after he intentionally crashed a vehicle into a police car, police said.
The man was arrested at about 12:30 a.m. Friday on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder, abuse of a family or household member, driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving without a license, failure to obey a police officer in relation to traffic laws, and resisting arrest. He was arrested on Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa.
Police said officers were sent to a domestic argument and were told by a 34-year-old woman that the suspect fled in his vehicle with her children sleeping inside it.
