Diesel fuel spills when truck tips
About 70 gallons of diesel fuel spilled Sunday after a delivery truck tipped over and ended up at the bottom of an embankment in Hilo, Hawaii island firefighters said.
The incident happened at about 1:40 a.m. on the Puainako extension, just before the 4-mile marker.
Ten firefighters responded and found the truck lying on its driver’s side at the bottom of an 8-foot embankment. The driver was able to get out on his own.
Firefighters and a private tow company stabilized the situation and turned the scene over to police for investigation.
No injuries were reported.
