Under gray skies, President Barack Obama played golf Monday at Mid-Pacific Country Club, then later dined at Alan Wong’s restaurant on South King Street.
Obama’s day began as usual with a workout at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe, leaving just before 10 a.m., according to the White House press pool.
A crowd of about 30 people waved to the president’s motorcade as it arrived at the golf course in the Lanikai section of Kailua, where Obama played with friends Bobby Titcomb, Mike Ramos and Greg Orme.
Obama left the golf course at 4:51 p.m. and arrived back at his Kailua vacation rental about 10 minutes later.
Obama also played at Mid-Pacific last week.
At 6:44 p.m. Obama and his wife, Michelle, then left Kailua and traveled by motorcade to the restaurant, known for innovative pairings of flavors. Menu items include macadamia nut-coconut lamb chops and ginger-crusted long-tail red snapper.
