Obama and Japanese premier perform rites at the Arizona


    Security, above, followed Obama and Abe during Tuesday’s ceremonies at Pearl Harbor. At right, with the USS Missouri as a backdrop, Obama made remarks at Kilo Pier at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.


    Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, left, and President Barack Obama tossed orchid blossoms into the water Tuesday as a tribute to the men and women who were killed at Pearl Harbor and during World War II. Joining them were Petty Officer 2nd Class Michelle Wrabley and Adm. Harry Harris.


    President Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe approached the wreaths that were laid inside the Arizona Memorial on Tuesday. Standing next to the wreaths were Marine Sgt. Sara Jaramillo, right, and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Kyle Mobeck.
