Diners, one of the longest-running plate-lunch restaurants on Oahu, is closing its last location Sunday.
The restaurant, at Waimalu Plaza, will be open today from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for its final day of business.
“I don’t want to end my business, but the plaza is ending my lease,” said owner Anna Nakamura, who’s owned the restaurant for 12 years.
Waimalu Plaza management could not be reached for comment.
Nakamura said she took over the business from her brother, Danny Hwang, who owned Diners for more than 20 years.
Established in 1963, Diners’ popular plates include chicken katsu, teri beef, roast pork and hamburger steak.
