Just around the corner, the eighth annual Friends of the Library of Hawaii Music & Book Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 14 and 15 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 16 at Washington Middle School, 1633 S. King St. Volunteers are being sought.

FESTIVAL WILL FEATURE COOKBOOK PAVILION
Spring and summer reading will be here before you know it, so mark your calendars for the 12th annual Hawai‘i Book & Music Festival on May 6 and 7, a free family event sponsored by Bank of Hawaii with all-day readings, performances and panels set on stages and in tents throughout the rolling grounds of the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center.
Several new features are being planned, including a Food & Cookbook pavilion and an AARP-sponsored “Disrupt Aging” program. For keiki, a storytelling program will be added to the lively menu of activities and entertainment.
