After many months of displaying a “coming soon” banner, Yellow Cab Pizza Co. will stage its grand opening Wednesday after an 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Philippine-based chain, established in 2001, is owned by Max’s Group Inc. and is a sister restaurant to Max’s of Manila. Both are in Iwilei in the Costco complex at 801 Dillingham Blvd. at Alakawa Street.
The new pizza restaurant is in spaces formerly occupied by Quiznos and Wallpaper & Finer Things, and will seat 90 guests. Delivery also will be offered via “the Bite Squad,” rather than the Yellow Cab-branded scooters that deliver meals in the Philippines.
Yellow Cab Pizza serves New York-style pizzas, pasta dishes and appetizers, and will offer coffee and espresso drinks as well as beer and wine.
Teriyaki Boy, another Max’s Group sister concept that operates in the Philippines, has been registered with the state, though details about its location and opening have not been announced.
Yellow Cab Pizza will operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
