Brison Kim, Peter Izumi and Kane Enomoto each scored goals and Kalani shut out Pearl City 3-0 to advance to the semifinals of the OIA boys soccer tournament on Tuesday at Mililani.
The Falcons clinched a state berth with the win, their sixth straight year in the tournament. Kalani, the defending OIA champion, won the state title in 2013.
The Falcons earned their fifth shutout of the season in the win, becoming the first team this season to hold the Chargers without a goal.
Kalani plays Mililani in Thursday’s semifinals at Castle, while Pearl City meets Castle at Kailua today with a state berth at stake. Castle has not participated in the state tournament since 2008. Pearl City’s drought extends back to 2014. All of Tuesday’s playoff winners clinched state berths.
Kaiser 3, Campbell 0
Noah Mokulehua, Motoki Sato, and Makana Srivongsana each scored a goal, leading the Cougars past the Sabers in the OIA quarterfinals.
Kaiser, the top seed from the OIA East, advanced to face Kapolei in the semifinals on Thursday.
Campbell plays Kahuku today at Kailua with a state berth up for grabs.
Mililani 2, Castle 0
Treyton Kong and Kawika Zarko had one goal apiece, leading the Trojans into the OIA semifinals.
Mililani, the top seed out of the OIA West, will face off with Kalani on Thursday at Castle.
Kapolei 6, Kahuku 0
Sean Yoshida had a hat trick, leading the Hurricanes to a blowout win over the Red Raiders.
Bradyn Yoshida, Braden Bantolina and Garrison Lee scored goals as well for Kapolei. Next up for Kapolei is Kaiser, the top seed from the OIA East, on Thursday at Castle.
