Last weekend’s “carmageddon” stemmed from the water main break where Kalanianaole Highway’s eastbound lanes pick up from H-1. Now the attention swings to the west side, where both sides of the freeway will close for power-line repairs.
But this surely will produce less of a strain. Sunday morning, from 6 to 10 a.m., all lanes will shut down between the Kualakai Parkway and Kamokila Boulevard interchanges.
The hope is, perhaps, that most folks will be enjoying a more leisurely morning at or near home at that time. Or, they can stop for a Kapolei breakfast. That works, too.
