Leinani Lacio, Brianne Agcaoili, Kaycee Bridget Selga and Reina Santiago each scored goals and Sacred Hearts earned its first-ever state win with a 4-1 victory over Waianae in the Queen’s Medical Center Girls Soccer State Championships at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Wednesday.
Sacred Hearts, which lost in its only previous appearance in 2008, advances to face top-seeded Hawaii Prep in today’s quarterfinal at 3 p.m.
Giana Ahia scored the only goal for the Seasiders.
Seabury Hall 3, Kauai 2
Kalena Pfaeltzer’s goal in the 77th minute rallied the Spartans from a 2-1 deficit to edge the Red Raiders. Kyra Cambra and Jenna Carvalho also scored for Seabury.
It was Seabury Hall’s first state win after 10 tries and the first time the Spartans scored more than two goals.
Chase Tokita and Kehela Ventura each scored for the Red Raiders.
Seabury Hall will now face Waipahu, the No. 4 seed, at 3 p.m.
The Marauders will be looking for their first state tournament win in their fourth try.
Makua Lani 2, Kalaheo 1, (PK 5-4)
The Lions slipped past the Mustangs in penalty kicks after both teams were tied after double overtime.
Shaelyn Kam scored Kalaheo’s lone goal in regulation, while Akari Shimizu scored for Makua Lani.
The Lions square off today against Kapaa at 3 p.m., the tournament’s No. 2-seed. The teams met in last year’s quarterfinals with Kapaa winning 2-1.
KS-Hawaii 5, Radford 0
The Warriors routed the Rams behind two goals each from Hevani Hanuga and Hiwa Brown. Chenoa Frederick also scored.
The Warriors will face No. 3-seed Pac-Five at 3 p.m.
