Top-seeded and three-time defending champion Hawaii Prep took a three-goal lead and fended off Sacred Hearts’ gallant comeback bid to prevail 3-2 in the Division II quarterfinals of The Queen’s Medical Center/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Girls Soccer State Championships on Thursday at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.
Goals by Emi Higgins, Sofia Aguilar and Jenna Perry gave BIIF D-II champion Hawaii Prep (9-2-2) its big cushion.
Ka Makani move on to play Seabury Hall in today’s 1 p.m. semifinal at the Waipio main stadium.
Brianne Agcaoili and Alena Schenk were the goal scorers for the Lancers (3-10-1).

Makena Dougherty’s goal in the 76th minute made the difference for the Spartans in the game that was tied 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3.
It was Dougherty’s second goal of the game. Jenna Carvalho and Alissa Lei Walin also netted goals for MIL D-II champion Seabury Hall (5-6-1).
Kayla Carabbacan scored twice and Karlee Manding added one goal for the the fourth-seeded and OIA D-II champion Marauders (8-4-1).

Talia Washington and Kaylee Overmyer scored for the KIF champion and second-seeded Warriors in the shutout win over the Lions (4-8).
Kapaa (12-1) plays Pac-Five in the semifinals today.
Pac-Five 3, Kamehameha-Hawaii 2
Chelsie DePonte broke a 2-all tie in the 75th minute for the ILH D-II champion and third-seeded Wolfpack (7-6).
Tara Rillon scored twice for Pac-Five, which fought back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits.
Hiwa Brown and Hevani Haunga netted goals for the Warriors (9-2-2).
