Sydney Mercer had 22 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, and 10 rebounds as the Hawaii Hilo women’s basketball team defeated Fresno Pacific 62-54 on Thursday in Hilo.
The Vulcans (6-12, 6-9 PacWest) went on an 8-1 run over the final 2:26.
Bree Alvarez had 18 points for the Sunbirds (5-18, 2-13).

Hawaii Hilo men down Fresno Pacific
Parker Farris scored 29 points and Ryley Callaghan added 24 points and eight assists as the Hawaii Hilo men’s basketball team beat Fresno Pacific 97-92 on Thursday in Hilo.
The Vulcans improved to 7-14, 5-10 PacWest.
Spencer Krannitz had 26 points and Mike Crawley added 23 for the Sunbirds (4-18, 4-11).
