Hawaii Public Radio announced the launch of a free mobile application and the reorganization of its two stations.
On Tuesday, HPR-1 and HPR-2 began broadcasting two separate and distinct formats. HPR-1 will focus on news and information programming. HPR-2 will broadcast classical music uninterrupted for 24 hours a day.
The mobile app is available on iPhone and Android devices. The mobile app, developed by Public Media Apps, live-streams radio broadcasts and gives on-demand access to individual stories and programs. Detailed program schedules can be found at hawaiipublicradio.org.
Along with the app and new formats for its two stations, the station announced a new logo.
HPR has a group of “phone concierges” available to answer questions about the change in programming at 955-8821.
