Shad Watson’s 3-pointer with 3:17 to go put Brigham Young-Hawaii ahead for good and the Seasiders pulled away for a 75-72 victory over Academy of Art in a PacWest men’s basketball game Wednesday at Cannon Activities Center.
Denhym Brooke led BYUH (6-18, 4-14) with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Watson finished with 16 points, 12 coming on 3-pointers.
Victor Nwadba scored 14 points for the Urban Knights (6-17, 5-12).

Kristin Baldwin led the Seasiders (9-15, 6-12 PacWest) with 22 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks while Marian Sheikh added 17 points. Alana Simon led the Urban Knights (14-11, 10-7) with a game-high 23 points and six steals.
Harrison on Golden Spikes watch list
Oregon State junior and Punahou alum K.J. Harrison was one of 55 baseball players named to the preseason Golden Spikes award watch list on Wednesday.
The two-time Pac-12 first teamer has hit 20 home runs in two seasons for the Beavers, where he plays catcher and first base.
The award, which will be presented on June 29, recognizes the top amateur baseball player in the country. It is the second year in a row Harrison has been on the list.
Nguyen earns weekly honor
University of Hawaii senior Cindy Nguyen earned the Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honor after leading the Rainbow Wahine to a pair of wins last week.
Nguyen is currently one of three Big West athletes who is individually ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) at No. 96 nationally.
It is her sixth career weekly award, putting her in a tie for fourth all-time in Big West history in that category.
