    Aircraft mechanics reported for work early Thursday morning to get the last three P-3 Orion aircraft ready to depart Marine Corps Base Hawaii for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington.

    Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class Blake Young sanded the edge of a propeller blade to eliminate a minute crack. The mechanics in back were working on the oil cooler.

    One of the last three P-3 Orion aircraft in Hawaii sat on the apron at sunrise Thursday at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The aircraft will depart Kaneohe Bay by week’s end for Whidbey Island, Wash.
