A man died early Saturday in a motorcycle crash in Pearl City. His name has yet to be released by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.
The crash occurred at about 5:30 a.m. near 1500 Hooli Circle. Police said the motorcycle, operated by a man possibly in his 30s, was traveling north on Hooli Circle when the man lost control and crashed into a concrete wall.
He was thrown from his motorcycle and Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Police said excessive speed was involved. It was unknown whether alcohol was a factor.
The death is the eighth traffic-related fatality this year on Oahu, compared with six at the same time last year.
Boy’s 3-floor plunge under investigation
Honolulu police on Saturday continued to investigate the case of a 20-month-old boy injured when he fell from the window of a high-rise apartment in Salt Lake Friday.
The boy fell from the sixth-floor window to the third-floor pool area at the Five Regents Condominium, 2888 Ala Ilima St., at about 6:42 a.m., police said.
Emergency Medical Services took the boy to a hospital in critical condition. EMS initially reported the boy was 21 months old and fell from the third floor.
