HPD will put body cameras, data storage to test

    HPD estimates that 500 cameras could generate about 4,000 terabytes a year (one terabyte equals 1,000 gigabytes). Managing and storing that data could cost from $1.5 million to $3 million annually.

Like other Hawaii counties have done, the Honolulu Police Department aims to strap body cameras to patrol officers in at least one district by the end of the year. Read more
