Reassess marine-monument expanded fishing ban


    Marjorie Ziegler, executive director for the Conservation Council for Hawaii, spoke during a Westpac conference to discuss fisheries and marine management on March 21 at Ala Moana Hotel. Westpac is asking Trump to rescind commercial fishing restrictions in the expanded Papahanaumokua National Monument created by President Obama.

The people of the U.S. Pacific Islands have a right to be heard at the federal table. Our nation’s system of Regional Fishery Management Councils enables that right for Hawaii and other states with maritime interests. Read more
