It was a hot week in Lihue.
The high temperature in the Kauai County seat reached 83 degrees on three consecutive days, tying records that have held for decades, the National Weather Service said.
The high in Lihue on Saturday reached 82, but that fell short of the record of 86, the weather service said.
On Friday, the high of 83 tied the record for that date set in 1974.
On Thursday, the high of 83 tied the record set in 1983.
On Wednesday, the high of 83 tied the record set in 1961.
On April 9, the high of 83 tied the record set in 1981. Also last Sunday, the high of 85 in Hilo tied the record set in 1963.
