Laurie Ibaraki of Honolulu braved the snow to find a sign of Hawaii in chilly Fairbanks, Alaska, last month. She and her sister, Karen Bow of Kaneohe, who took this picture, spotted Aloha B.B.Q. Grill while visiting Alaska to see the aurora borealis and the start of the Iditarod sled race.
