The Hawaii High School Athletic Association released the bracket and seedings on Saturday for the New City Nissan/HHSAA Boys Volleyball State Championships.
In Division I, ILH powerhouse Punahou is the top seed with a 15-0 record, while BIIF champion Kamehameha-Hawaii claimed the No. 2 seed. Mililani earned the No. 3 seed as the OIA champion with a 13-0 record, while Kamehameha-Maui clinched the fourth seed and final first-round bye.
Two Oahu schools will travel interisland for their Division I first-round matchups on May 1. Kapolei will visit BIIF runner-up Waiakea, while Waipahu will face King Kekaulike in Pukalani, Maui. In the remaining first-round games, Kaiser will travel to OIA East rival Moanalua, while Waianae will take on ILH runner-up ‘Iolani. Radford will host two Division I quarterfinal games and Moanalua will be the site for two Division I quarterfinals and the semifinals.
In Division II, Hawaii Baptist claimed the top seed, followed by Kapaa, Farrington and Molokai. Kalani and Hawaii Baptist will host the Division II matches except the championship. Both Division I and II title matches will be played on Saturday at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
Mililani top softball seed
OIA champion Mililani captured the Division I top seed in the Data House/HHSAA Softball State Championships announced Saturday. The Trojans earned a first-round bye along with No. 2 Maryknoll, No. 3 Lahainaluna and No. 4 Waiakea. Maui and Leilehua will kick off the first round of Division I play at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium on Wednesday at noon.
In Division II, Kamehameha-Hawaii earned the No. 1 seed, followed by No. 2 Aiea, No. 3 Kapaa and No. 4 Molokai. The Division II games will take place at McKinley High School, with the third-place game, fifth-place game, semifinals and championship played at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
