OK, hazelnut fans, Snickers has developed a bar for you.
Some of my friends fell for the Snickers & Hazelnut candy bar at first bite, but it took me two tastings. The second time I was more in the mood for hazelnuts, a craving normally satisfied by a piece of Ferrero Rocher, but then I remembered the less expensive Snickers.
I enjoyed it so much, I bought the remaining few at Don Quijote in Waipahu. We’ve since found it at other Don Quijote stores, Foodland, Walgreens and Pali Longs Drugs.
Some come in a bigger bar with two pieces. The more the merrier, I say.

Barbecue master returns to share artistry
Myron Mixon, a superstar in the world of barbecue, came to town last year for a dinner and demo at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. All 120 tickets quickly sold out, prompting the Hilton to book Mixon for a two-night appearance this year.
Mixon is a television barbecue celebrity, featured in Discovery’s Destination America shows “BBQ Pitmasters,” “BBQ Rules,” “BBQ Pit Wars” and “Smoked.” He has restaurants, a line of ingredients and gear, three cookbooks and a cooking school at his home in Unadilla, Ga.
Mixon has won more than 200 championships on the competitive barbecue circuit, and is frequently introduced as “the winningest man in barbecue.”
His classes will be just before Father’s Day, 5 to 8 p.m. June 15 and 16, and we’re telling you about it now because you really should move fast.
Participants will follow his instructions in preparing ribs and chicken, then eat up at a barbecue buffet. Cost is $250, which includes VIP tickets to the Honolulu BBQ & Blues Festival, 5 to 9:30 p.m. June 17 on the Hilton’s great lawn.
The festival will be an evening of live music, with barbecue on the side. Tickets to that event alone are $35, which includes one food item. For tickets visit hiltonhawaiianvillage.com/bbq or call 947-7955.

Their dishes will be paired with premium wines such as Caymus, Insignia, Kosta Browne, Opus One and Silver Oak.
Tickets are $175. Visit HFWF.me.
The event, which closes with a fireworks show, is considered the kickoff of the full-scale festival, set for Oct. 20 to Nov. 5, with events on Oahu, Maui and Hawaii island.
