Would-be film stars audition to portray King Kamehameha

    James “Kimo” Farias Ornellas, left, Aukai Lai and Justin Kauwalu waited Thursday evening to audition for the motion picture “The Islands” at the Japanese Cultural Center. The film will attempt to cover major events in Hawaii’s history, and casting for the film will be authentic in terms of attempting to cast Native Hawaiian actors in related roles.
