Church volunteers Saturday helped raise 6,600 pounds of food donations to benefit Aloha Harvest.
The donations were collected as part of the Aloha Walk for Hunger community event sponsored by the Iglesia Ni Cristo congregations of Oahu.
Donations will be distributed to social service agencies across the state.
The free event, which included a 2-mile walk around Kapolei Regional Park, also featured food and entertainment. The day of service is part of a church program that supports the efforts of community partners to help those in need.
