Police arrested a 40-year-old man in Kalihi on Sunday morning for allegedly burglarizing a home.
Police said the suspect unlawfully entered a residence in Kalihi around 1 a.m., allegedly assaulted a 56-year-old man inside and damaged property.
Police were called, and the suspect was arrested for first-degree burglary, a Class B felony.
Waimanalo man killed in 2-vehicle crash
A 29-year-old man from Waimanalo died following a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Pali Highway, police said.
The man was driving an SUV town-bound at high speed about 3 miles from the Pali tunnel near Nuuanu at about 11 p.m., police said. The SUV collided with a vehicle that contained a 63-year-old male driver and a 63-year-old female passenger, police said.
They were uninjured.
After the collision the SUV continued onto the grass shoulder and struck a guardrail. The SUV then came back onto the road, flipped and came to rest, police said.
The driver was ejected. He was taken in critical condition to an area hospital, where he died.
The Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately identify the driver.
