Mixed-use condo owners must opt by Sept. 1 to get lower tax rate

    Trump International Hotel Waikiki is one of more than 40 properties where unit owners will have to pay property taxes based on either a residential or a commercial rate. Condominium owners are to notify the city by Sept. 1 of their intentions.

Owners of about 8,000 condominiums on Oahu face a Sept. 1 deadline to tell the city whether their property should be taxed at a residential rate or much higher commercial rate as part of a property tax reform initiative. Read more
