Sharing of traffic center sparks rail discussion

    Ty Fukumitsu, an electrical engineer with Honolulu’s Transportation Services Department, middle, spoke Friday with Mayor Kirk Caldwell as they took in an overview of the operations floor of the new Joint Traffic Management Center.

Honolulu’s mayor used a tour of the island’s future traffic operations center, a city-funded facility that will house state agencies, to push for state leadership to help rescue the city’s massively over-budget rail transit project. Read more
