Police arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly choked his 25-year-old wife in Waipahu.
Police said that at about 7:20 a.m. Thursday, the suspect choked the victim in the presence of their child. Police said the suspect fled before officers arrived.
That evening the man returned home, and police were called.

Male suspect sought in McCully home theft
Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly stole items from a resident’s yard in McCully.
At about 9:20 a.m. Thursday, police said, the victim, 40, saw the suspect walking down the street from his yard with items belonging to him. When the resident tried to retrieve the stolen items, the suspect brandished an unspecified weapon and threatened the victim before he fled.
