Naval shipyard gets new leader as facility’s importance grows

    Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility held a change-of-command ceremony Friday in front of the shipyard’s administration building on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Capt. Greg Burton, center, is replacing Capt. Jamie Kalowsky as the 47th commander of the largest industrial employer in the state.

Capt. Greg Burton took over command of Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard on Friday from Capt. Jamie Kalowsky at the facility, which has grown from about 4,800 civilian workers two years ago to about 5,200 now, the keynote speaker at the event said. Read more
