Associa Hawaii, a community management company, raised $100,000 for the Honolulu Shriners Hospital for Children through an annual golf tournament fundraiser.
Associa Hawaii and the Kapolei Golf Club hosted a tournament June 23 for which 200 golfers joined local sponsors to raise $100,000. Local sponsors included DK Painting, Hawaii Bio-Waste, Guild Mortgage Hawaii and Seal Masters of Hawaii. The money raised will help children who need orthopedic and neurological services at Shriners.
Ashley Eiden, 14, one of the patients benefiting from the tournament, was a guest speaker at the event. Eiden was diagnosed with rapidly progressing scoliosis. The orthopedic condition is a curvature of the spine. Associa Hawaii said that after she underwent surgery at the Honolulu hospital, Eiden is “standing tall and back to her normal activities.”
