The FarmLovers Kaka‘ako Farmers’ Market is on the move.
That Saturday morning gathering of local food producers and artisans was held at Ward Warehouse through last week, but had to find a new home in anticipation of the site’s redevelopment.
This weekend marks the market’s debut a short distance away, at Ward Gateway, in the parking lot next to Ross Dress for Less.
All the vendors from the original lineup will be there, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Some 60 booths will offer fresh produce and fish, eggs, grass-fed beef, venison and lamb, plus honey, coffee and prepared food such as pizza, crepes, tacos and baked goods.
In addition to the usual music that lends a relaxing ambience to the market (this week provided by Keanu Boom Kanani Band), a reopening celebration begins with a blessing at 7:45 a.m., followed by a performance by Halau Ha‘a Hula o Kekau‘ilani na Pua o Kailua.
There will be prize giveaways and cake from Honolulu French Connection as well.
A bonus: The market will hand out stamp cards that can earn customers $5 coupons. Get five stamps, given by vendors upon purchase, and receive a coupon, while they last.
Ward Gateway is at 333 Ward Ave. Visit farmloversmarkets.com.

M&M’s go chewy with caramel filling
Mars has added a new flavor to its M&M’s line.
Bite into these candy-coated pieces to find a caramel center. It’s like a crisp-shelled Milk Dud … and the caramel doesn’t get stuck between the teeth as much.
This is the 10th flavor for the colorful M&M mascots (not counting various limited-edition flavors over the years). Besides the classic milk chocolate and peanut, there are also peanut butter, pretzel, crispy, dark chocolate, almond, dark mint and dark chocolate peanut.
Look for caramel in the dark blue bags.

Rocky road: Frozen fave
In honor of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, Walmart has come up with a state-by-state list of favorite flavors, based on sales of its Great Value brand.
Most states prefer vanilla or vanilla bean, with rainbow sherbet next, and butter pecan a favorite of the Southeastern states.
Hawaii, however, stands alone in its preference for rocky road.
When it comes to toppings, chocolate syrup is the hands-down national favorite, and for sprinkles, chocolate and rainbow pull about even.
Just in case you were wondering.
A sausage celebration
While we’re on the topic of national days of eating, National Hot Dog Day is a week from Wednesday, and Hank’s Haute Dogs is celebrating with a two-for-one offer on Hank’s Franks ($4.25), a beef hot dog dressed with Dusseldorf mustard, Chicago-style green relish, onion and a pickle spear.
The offer runs while supplies last, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19 at Hank’s, 324 Coral St. in Kakaako. Call 532-4265 or visit hankshautedogs.com.
