Tami Barker canceled a booking made by Dyne Suh following a dispute over additional guests. Barker asserted that Suh’s Asian ancestry was a reason. Some might say Barker broke a key maxim in business, “The customer is always right.” First she must acknowledge that her home is a business.
Here comes Fernanda; get those kits ready
Hurricane Fernanda is not expected to blow into the Central Pacific Hurricane Center on Oahu’s area of responsibility until Thursday. By then, the storm, which reached Category 4 intensity with 130 mph winds on Friday while thrashing about some 2,430 miles southeast of Hilo, will likely be much, much weaker. Even so, Fernanda serves as a reminder that hurricane season is underway. State emergency managers are urging residents to gather up 14 days’ worth of survival supplies.The most important items: 1 gallon of water per person per day, nonperishable foods and any needed prescriptions and medications.
