The state has fined Aloha Petroleum Ltd. $200,000 for fuel tank violations.
Aloha Petroleum, owner and operator of four 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks at 3203 Monsarrat Ave., was cited by the Department of Health for failing to notify the state of a suspected fuel release within 24 hours and for not completing an investigation in a timely manner, the DOH said in a news release.
The department also found inadequate detection monitoring and record-keeping systems.
DOH regulates underground storage tanks that hold petroleum or hazardous substances that can contaminate the environment.
Aloha Petroleum said via an email from Becker Communications Inc., a public relations company, that it was “unable to provide comment, as the matter is still pending.”
GM’s quarterly net falls on loss from sale
